The 2016 Dolcetto d'Alba Bricco dell'Oriolo sees fruit sourced from a unique position at the top of a hill in Montelupo Albese, with south-facing exposures. The site is some 600 meters above sea level. The area is considered excellent for this varietal, and the vines are 45 years old or more. The 2016 Dolcetto d'Alba Bricco dell'Oriolo benefits from naturally low yields from old vines and ideal growing conditions. This pretty wine opens to inky darkness and thick natural extraction. The bouquet delivers black fruit, tar and spice (derived purely from the fruit, not the winemaking process, as no oak is used). The finish is ripe, plump and succulent. Some 16,000 bottles were produced.
