The 2016 Pommard Villages, which was bottled in December as Jean-Pierre felt there was little point in extending the élevage, has a winsome cranberry and raspberry-scented bouquet, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, atypically showing more flesh and body than the Volnay Village, smooth in the mouth with lovely black plum and crushed strawberry on the easygoing finish. Lovely, just lovely.
