The 1989 Cornas reveals a dark ruby/purple color, an attractive, berry nose, substantial flavor authority, but less extraction of flavor and softer tannin than one normally expects from a Clape Cornas. Stylistically, it reminds me of a beefed-up 1982, which was not an especially memorable vintage for Cornas. It should be ready to drink within 2-4 years and last for at least 12-15. Last tasted 1/96.
