The 2014 Chardonnay is still quite closed at this stage. This is interesting for an eight-year-old Chardonnay. The 2014 was an incredibly seductive and classical vintage in Margaret River for the Cabernet Sauvignon, and so it is good to see the Chardonnay expressing in such a restrained and graceful way. It fits with what we know of the year. It has notes of aniseed, ginger root, fennel flower, a hint of pork crackling and plenty of grilled peach. Super cool.
