The initial bouquet of Avignonesi’s 2012 Rosso di Montepulciano shows slightly toasted notes of almond and chestnut with pretty forest berry at the back. Raspberry and wild strawberries come into focus. You also get pretty layers of blue flower and pressed violets. The overall effect is simple and easy-going.
