Crushed flowers, raspberries and sweet spices are some of the aromas that emerge from the 2008 Chianti Classico. This feminine, mid-weight Chianti turns a touch fleeting on the finish, suggesting it is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. Villa Cafaggio gave the Chianti ten months in cask. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. Villa Cafaggio is located in the famous Conca d’Oro in Panzano, one of the very finest spots in all of Tuscany. The estate’s neighbors include Fontodi, La Massa and Castello dei Rampolla. It would be nice to see Villa Cafaggio make wines of a similar level.
