The tannic, traditionally made 1994 Brunello di Montalcino exhibits earth, spice box, and loamy soil scents intermixed with ripe plum, cherry, and underbrush notes. It is an earth/spice-driven wine with enough fruit to carry it for 10-15 years. There is firm, noticeable tannin in the medium to full-bodied finish. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2015.
