From two average to above average quality Brunello di Montalcino vintages, Costanti has fashioned a 1996 Brunello di Montalcino that is somewhat angular, tannic, austere, and lean. That's the bad news. The good news includes a complex nose of berries (cherries and strawberries) and leather, followed by medium body, and fine purity as well as balance. However, the tannin gives the wine a rigid constitution.
