The 2009 Aglianico Fidelis is a tremendous wine for the money. Juicy red berries, flowers, and crushed rocks explode from the glass in this racy, sleek Agliancio. Readers won’t find a ton of varietal character or complexity, but instead a wine built on racy, exuberant fruit. Varietal notes of smoke, incense and game add nuance on the finish, but the 2009 is mostly about overt fruit. This is another terrific choice for near-term drinking. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2017.
These are three totally delicious value-priced wines from Cantine del Taburno.
