The 2002 Willow Creek Cuvee (a 175-case blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 20% Mourvedre) is an elegant, Pinot Noir-influenced effort displaying vibrant, briery fruit along with fragrant aromas of kirsch liqueur, licorice, and white pepper. Ethereal in its wonderful fruit and medium body, it cuts an unexpectedly broad, intense swath across the palate. It is a delightful red to drink over the next 2-3 years.
