Panther Creek's owner/winemaker, Ken Wright, is on the top of his game. His new Pinot Noir releases are knock-outs. There is nothing to dislike about any of the three single vineyard offerings (all limited in availability as approximately 100 cases of each were produced). The 1992 Pinot Noir Freedom Hill is every bit as good as the Carter Vineyard. With its black-cherry, vanillin, and smoky-scented nose, and ripe, unctuously-textured, super-concentrated flavors it represents all that Pinot Noir should be. Concentrated, rich, and fragrant, it is a decadent, pleasure-filled wine that should last for 5-6 years.
