The outstanding dark purple-colored 1994 Sorella (a Cabernet/Merlot blend) offers lovely aromas of sweet mocha, Asian spices, candied dark berries, violets and traces of sweet vanilla and mint. Its thick, full-bodied personality is packed with explosively jammy, yet delineated cassis fruit. When I served it blind to my tasting group, a friend commented that it had to be a top flight Pahlmeyer because of the huge amounts of glycerin, chewy fruit and supple tannins. Anticipated maturity: Now-2010.Chris Camarda named his meritage, or proprietary red, Sorella (which means sister in Italian) in honor of his recently departed sister (her portrait graces the label).Note: The Andrew Will Winery is located in a residential neighborhood on Vashon Island. An ordinance prevents Anne and Chris Camarda from receiving visitors to the winery as it would impose on their neighbor's privacy.Tel. (206) 463-3290.
