Produced from 10% Cabernet Franc, 25% Merlot (both from the Ciel du Cheval vineyard), and 65% Cabernet Sauvignon (from the Mercer Ranch vineyard), the medium-to-dark ruby-colored 1996 Sorella offers super-sweet red fruit and Asian spice aromas. This gorgeously deep wine is crammed with cherries, raspberries, blackberries, brambleberries, and fresh herbs. Fruit driven, it is concentrated and extracted, the most tannic and backward wine I've tasted from Chris Camarda. Unlike his other offerings, this wine will require cellaring.
