Very classic in style, with lots of garrigue, leather, ground pepper and Provencal herbs, the 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Vieilles Vignes is full-bodied, structured and still youthful on both the nose and palate. Made from 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre, it’s an outstanding, textbook Chateauneuf du Pape to drink over the coming decade.

The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Vieilles Vignes is a dense but backward, broad, and tannic effort. Certainly it has more weight and is seriously endowed compared to its sibling, but it needs some time in the bottle.
