The finest vintage ever from this estate, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Vieilles Vignes is a flat out awesome, Provencal wine that’s made from mostly old vine Grenache mixed with 15% Mourvèdre. Notes of roasted meats, beef blood, peppery herbs and loads of ripe black fruits all give way to a full-bodied, huge, concentrated, thick and unctuous beauty that has integrated acidity and a finish that won’t quit. It’s at the early stages of maturity but has another 10-15 years of prime drinking.
