A blend of Grenache, Mataro and Shiraz, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2013 Joshua opens with a slightly reduced and rubbery nose that with air soon gives way to a core of red plums and black raspberry aromas with underlying anise, black pepper and tar hints. Full-bodied with tons of juicy, red berry and pepper flavors on offer, it has a low to medium level of soft tannins, lively acid and a long finish, if somewhat simple. Drink it now to 2017+.
