Out of bottle, the 1997 Syrah Stolpman Vineyard reveals less aromatics, but more power, richness, and size. Opaque ruby/purple-colored, with sumptuous aromas of blackberry liqueur, smoke, pepper, and earth, this creamy-textured, full-bodied, luscious Syrah has some tannin to shed, but it is hard to resist its ostentatious personality.
