From vines planted in 1975 on a south-facing slope, the 2018 Block 6 Chardonnay sees a similar winemaking regimen as the regular Chardonnay, with 30% new French oak, no malolactic fermentation and no lees stirring. The result is citrusy and intense, with hints of pencil shavings and crushed stone accenting lemon-lime fruit. There are hints of white peach or nectarine, but this is a tight, concentrated pillar of citrusy goodness, finishing long, lean and mouthwatering.
