This grand cru was fermented and aged in a blend of old and new barrels. 1996 was a fabulous vintage for the Chablis Les Clos appellation - its power and intensity is given additional focus by the vintage's high acidity levels. Droin's reveals a rich, spice cake and butter-laced nose as well as a massively powerful, magnificently-balanced, full-bodied, and layered core of smoky minerals, lemon zests, pears, flint and touches of sweet oak. The flavors seemingly go on forever in this superb wine's stunning finish.
