A fine value, the 2000 Allende (100% Tempranillo aged 13 months in primarily French oak and bottled unfiltered) exhibits a dense garnet/ruby/purple-tinged color as well as a striking nose of lead pencil shavings, black currants, and cherries. Rich, elegant, and medium-bodied, with excellent purity as well as nicely integrated wood, acidity, and tannin, it should be enjoyed over the next 5-7 years.
