The 2006 Avenger, from three of the great limestone vineyards of Paso Robles (Booker, Denner, and James Berry), is a blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Mourvedre, and 20% Grenache. It is another sexy, up-front wine, displaying plenty of juiciness, a dense ruby/purple color, and a floral, blackberry, and black currant nose with hints of forest floor, underbrush, pepper, and spice.
