Rostaing's 1991s offer persuasive evidence of just how excellent this vintage is in Cote Rotie. Now that he has taken over the vineyard interests of his father-in-law, Albert Dervieux, Rostaing has become one of the most important producers of estate-bottled Cote Rotie. In 1991 he produced four cuvees. The 1991 Cote Rotie (regular cuvee) is a rich, full-bodied wine, with soft tannins, low acidity, and gobs of rich Syrah fruit with that tell-tale smoky, bacon fat-scented nose, as well as luscious black fruit character. It is a wine to drink in its first 7-8 years of life. Importer: Kermit Lynch, Berkeley, CA.
