Allegrini's 1991 Amarone is satisfying, but somewhat coarsely-textured with dry, hard flavors, good, spicy, truffle-like aromas, and plenty of body, but not enough sweet fruit to balance out the wine's structural components. Although attractive, it is not at the same quality level as Allegrini's Valpolicellas and Vino da Tavolo La Poja.
This estate has greatly improved the quality of its wines over the last few years .
