The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Lago is released one year later, as if it were a Riserva (although it is not labeled as such). This is a dark and structured wine with a generous and free-flowing bouquet. The aromas peel back to reveal dark fruit, plum and market spice. It offers impressive depth and volume at the back with a subtle yet very persistent finish. This wine is slightly more delicate and accessible compared to the rounder Vigna Spuntali.
