A terrific buy, the 2005 Shiraz/Viognier (95% of the former and 5% of the latter) spent 10 months in primarily French oak. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by scents of apricots, honeysuckle, black currant jam, and sweet wild mountain berries. This complex, rich, full-bodied effort boasts great fruit on the attack, mid-section, and finish. Generous, but with well-integrated oak, acidity, and tannin, it should drink well for 5-6 years.
