The 2010 Savigny-Les-Beaune Les Peuillets is a gorgeous, complete wine. Freshly cut flowers, raspberries and sweet spices are woven together beautifully in this textured Burgundy. I especially like the way the aromas and flavors meld together in a seamless fashion, yet are supported by the energy and vibrancy of the 2010 tannins. This is a striking effort. The 2010 harvest started on September 23 with this parcel. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020. Winemaker David Croix describes 2010 as being similar to 2002, but with more tension. The harvest started on September 23. About two-thirds of the wines were lightly chaptalized. None of these wines had been racked at the time of my visit in November 2011.
