The same can be said for the 2009 Goliardo Espadeiro made from 100% Espadeiro from 150-year-old vines. It received the same elevage as the Louereiro and displays some similarities aromatically and on the palate. Peppery, herbal, balsamic, and leather notes along with a dollop of black fruits inform this wine’s complex bouquet. On the palate it reveals some elegance and enough structure to evolve for several years. There are only 41 cases of this unique wine whose appeal is as much about its rarity as about its sensual merits.
