After a very sunny and dry summer, September was rather coolish but sunny and created a very relaxed harvest period with homogeneously ripe and concentrated grapes. The 2015 Heerkretz Riesling GG was picked late in October, between the 10th and 28th (similar to the 2016), and opens with an intense, generously fruity and just-maturing bouquet that combines the purity and spiciness of the terroir with the fully ripe and warm fruit that represents the late harvest. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, intense, quite generous but always pure and saline/crystalline dry Riesling with the juicy-savory texture of the 2019 (well, almost) but even more power and muscles. The finish is also savory and saline and gives reasons to hope for excellent aging in the bottle 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted from magnum at the domaine in late August 2023.
