This 20-acre estate, run with considerable precision by Gerard Boudot, is among the top dozen or so producers of white Burgundy. 1994 is a very good vintage for white Burgundy, as evidenced by the following wines. The 1994 Batard-Montrachet offers formidable concentration, as well as a closed personality. With dense cherry and honeysuckle-like fruit, a nice touch of toasty oak, full body, and fine length, this wine will benefit from 1-3 years of cellaring; it should keep for a decade.
