The 2004 Sagrantino Montefalco Passito flows with the essence of raisins, chocolate, plums, spices and sweet herbs. Medium to full in body, the wine shows tons of harmony in a round, generous style. The finish is long and sweet, as notes of chocolate, flowers and minerals make a final appearance on the close. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012.
Scacciadiavoli is one of the older properties in Montefalco. The Pambuffetti family made its name in the food business over several decades, but these bold, racy offerings are proving that they are equally adept with wine. Consulting oenologist Stefano Chioccioli has overseen the production since 2003.
