The generic 1994 Puligny-Montrachet is an attractive village wine with plenty of finesse, medium body, a refreshing buttery popcorn-like scent and taste, and fresh acidity. It needs to be drunk over the next several years. The three offerings reviewed in this segment are only a small sample of the range of wines made by Louis Carillon and his sons. This domaine produces fine Burgundies, all of which seem to have gotten even better since the late eighties.
