The estate’s top bottling the 2001 Brunello di Montalcino 123 is made in a similarly large-scaled, super-ripe style. It presents generous amounts of sweet fruit, chocolate and toasted oak sensations with outstanding concentration and length on the palate. Though not especially typical of Sangiovese it offers lovely overall balance as well as harmony with a lingering note of sweetness on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019.
