This is a good wine that just misses the big leagues. It makes all the right moves, with posh, cherry-infused Merlot flavors nicely balanced by Cabernet’s stronger, more structured blackberry profile. The tannins are fine, and there’s some fancy oak framing them. But bitterness in the finish and a midpalate thinness bring it down a notch. ——J.M.(11/15/2002)—— 88
