從 2004 年開始，Insignia 由采自私人葡萄園的 100% 的 Bordeaux 葡萄品種釀制。這款優(yōu)質(zhì)的 2005 年份的 Insignia （12500 箱，由 92% 的 Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% 的 Petit Verdot, 以及 1% Merlot 混釀而成）呈深寶石紅色，帶點淡紫色，散發(fā)著黑莓、黑醋栗、巧克力的甜美味道，搭配一點樟腦和烤藥草的氣味。 酒體介于中等至飽滿之間，具有歐洲酒的風格，優(yōu)雅而豐富，口感如天鵝絨般絲滑，充滿 California 水果的風味。裝瓶若干年后會更好，能窖藏 30 年。 Freestone 葡萄園由 Joseph Phelps 經(jīng)營，面積 100 英畝，坐落在 Sonoma 沿岸，所處氣候涼爽。生產(chǎn)出很不一樣的 Chardonnay 酒和 Pinot Noir 酒。目前，酒莊有 3 款 Chardonnay，每款都帶有該葡萄品種特有的礦物和檸檬柑橘的氣息，伴有一點橡木的氣味，但實際上它們都在木桶內(nèi)發(fā)酵，在新法國橡木桶內(nèi)陳年。 Cabernet Sauvignon 系列有 3 款，其中一款最有名的紅葡萄酒命名為 Insignia。釀造這款酒的葡萄來自一個獨立名為 Backus 的葡萄園，坐落在 Oakville 西邊的山坡上。 普通的 Cabernet 一般由 85% 的 Cabernet Sauvignon ，Merlot 和 Petit Verdot 混釀而成，有時也混入 Malbec。 Oakville 的 Backus 葡萄園產(chǎn)量一般為 1500 至 2500 箱。

This is not a wine for tonight, or next year, or for at least the next six years. It’s shut down in tannins, with an astringency that can’t be overcome even with decanting, although that won’t stop people from opening it before its time. Buried beneath the tannins are well-developed black currant, roasted meat and cedar flavors that define upscale Napa Cab.
