Although this winery’s name may not play well in English speaking countries, the wine is one of pure seduction and hedonistic joy. Sadly, only 1,000 plus cases are produced under the consulting guidance of Michel Rolland’s brilliant assistant, Jean-Philippe Fort. A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2004 reveals a generosity and richness that are unusual for the vintage. Deep ruby/purple-hued with black cherry and garrigue-like aromas intermixed with pain grille and licorice, it is a plush, opulent, hedonistic, fleshy, succulent St.-Emilion to enjoy over the next 12-14 years. A sleeper!
