This wine was previously named Guado al Melo Bianco but has now been given a new fantasy name. The 2015 Bolgheri Bianco Criseo is a blend of 80% Vermentino with other white grapes including Fiano, Verdicchio, Incrocio Manzoni and Petit Manseng. The wine is aged on the lees. All the fruit is sourced from a single vineyard parcel called Campo Bianco. The wine shows a luminous, off-gold color and the bouquet showed signs of reduction when I tasted it. It takes a little while to come alive and it never fully opens. It delivers aromas of stone fruit and candied orange peel.
