This has turned out to be a very good example of Beausejour. Medium dark ruby, with some amber at the edge, the wine's bouquet offers up moderately intense aromas of black fruits, smoke, licorice, and minerals. In the mouth, the wine is medium bodied, and has some firm tannins to shed, but there appears to be very good extract. Almost fully mature, it should continue to evolve gracefully for at least another decade. Anticipated maturity: Now-2001. Last tasted, 1/89.
