The 2008 Englora contains 47% Garnatxa from 70-year-old vines, 22% Carignan from 50-year-old vines, with the balance Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Tempranillo aged for 10 months in 33% new French oak. This dark ruby-colored effort is packed with sweet fruit, displays an elegant personality, and has 2-3 years of aging potential. It will offer prime drinking from 2013 to 2020. The 2006 Englora is purple colored with an attractive nose of spice box, mineral, black cherry, and plum. Although it seems to have outstanding raw materials, the wine is currently out of balance with the tannin having the upper hand. The 2004 Englora is composed of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Garnacha,16% Carinena, and 3% other varieties aged for 9 months in French and American oak. Inky purple, it offers an enticing perfume of cedar, pencil lead, mineral, spice box, black cherry, and blueberry. The wine is full-bodied with serious depth and length but is slightly compressed in the finish.
