The 2011 Crianza is pure Tempranillo aged for one year in French barrels. It has a ripe nose of black fruit and a succulent palate, dense, chewy and ripe, with good intensity and length. Quite pricey for a Crianza, though. Drink now-2016.
Felix Callejo was created in 1989, so it’s part of the first wave of modern Ribera del Duero, and nowadays his four siblings work 60 hectares of vineyards.
