The more substantial 2008 Shiraz-Viognier Piebald spent 14 months in 30% new French and American oak. It receives a pleasing aromatic lift from the 5% Viognier component to complement its toasty, spicy, incense, and blueberry-scented perfume. Smooth-textured, dense, and full-flavored, this lengthy effort will drink well for another 8-10 years. Importer: Epicurean Wines, Seattle, WA; tel. (206) 923-1376
