This lovely expression underlines freshness and sharpness with a very precise and linear quality of aromas, starting with citrus and crunchy pear, then transitioning softly to crushed mineral and quartz. The Tiefenbrunner 2018 Alto Adige Pinot Blanc Anna is another gorgeous expression of a grape that excels in this cool-climate wine region located in the far north of Italy. The overall effect shows so much clarity and pure beauty.

The 2010 Pinot Bianco shows lovely roundness and persistence. A rich expression of fruit is nicely buffered by the freshness of the relatively late harvest that year. This is a delicious entry-level white. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015. I tasted a wide range of fabulous wines from Tiefenbrunner this year. The 2009 Pinot Bianco sparkles on the palate with beautifully articulated fruit, well-defined aromatics and lovely clarity at this level. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2012. I was frankly disappointed with the wines I tasted from Tiefenbrunner this year.
