The 2015 Pinot Noir Olson Estate Vineyard is pale to medium ruby in color with a dried cranberries and red cherries nose plus notions of dried flowers and autumn leaves. Light to medium-bodied and red-fruited, it's very juicy in the mouth with grainy tannins, finishing with sweet fruit. 400 cases produced.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Olson Estate Vineyard was harvested on October 1 and 2, destemmed and raised in French barrels for 18 months in 19% new oak. It has a clean and fresh nose with raspberry and boysenberry scents, demonstrating much more vigor than the Nysa Vineyard. The palate is well balanced with touch of dried blood on the entry. This is well structured with touches of cola and spice-box towards the finish. I would drink this over the next 4-5 years.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Olson Estate Vineyard comes from vines planted in 1972, from cuttings bought in by David Lett, that remain on their own roots (Pommard, 667 and Coury clones). Aged for 17 months in French oak, it has an intense bouquet with cranberry, red plum and wild strawberry notes infused with sous-bois character coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet, fleshy entry. This is nicely balanced with a fine lattice of tannin underneath, poised and focused all the way through to the finish. Elegant in style, enjoy this over the next 6-8 years, possibly longer.

The 2010 Pinot Noir Olson Estate Vineyard, apparently the estate's favorite vintage apropos this vineyard, was showing a little maturation on the rim. It has an attractive bouquet with hints of Seville orange marmalade infusing the red berry fruit, a ferrous element tucked in just underneath. The palate is soft, but harmonious on the entry with candied orange peel, lush strawberry and a slight bitter edge towards the finish. This should continue to drink well for several years

The star of the portfolio is the 2009 Pinot Noir Olson Vineyard Estate. It is a massale selection of older clones that provide the most complex perfume of any of the Pinots in the collection, the darkest, richest fruit, and some power unusual in the vintage. It will benefit from 1-2 years of cellaring and is likely to be one of the longer lived wines of 2009. Torii Mor was founded in 1993 by Dr. Donald and Margie Olson.
