The 2019 Pinot Noir Kiana is transparent and nervy, expressive and detailed! It has a medium ruby color and layered aromas of red and black cherries complemented by bergamot, star anise, lavender, earth and mushrooms. The medium-bodied palate offers very finely grained tannins, invigorating bursts of acidity and complex earth and citrusy detail lingering on the finish.

Medium ruby, the 2018 Pinot Noir Kiana has an alluring perfume of violets, lilac, black cherries and blueberries with accents of tangerine peel, aniseed and earth. Medium-bodied, the palate is concentrated and firmly structured despite its pure, detailed fruit. Powerful yet focused, it will benefit from another 3-5 years in bottle.

The medium ruby colored 2017 Pinot Noir Kiana is scented of crushed blackcurrants, black cherries and blackberry pie with allspice, loamy earth, cured meats, dried herbs and flowers and red berry sparks. The palate is medium-bodied and silky with intense, earth-laced fruits, a firm frame of grainy tannins and great freshness to oppose the density of flavor, finishing long and nuanced. This merits another year in bottle. 630 cases produced.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Kiana is pale ruby in color with a nose of blackberry pie, black cherries, dried red berries and lots of classy new oak—vanilla, cardamom and cinnamon stick—with nuances of potpourri and dried leaves. It's light-bodied and red fruited in the mouth with spicy layers, firm, grainy tannins and good freshness to lift the spicy finish. Give this time in bottle to soak up all that new oak. 700 cases produced.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Kiana has a lifted bouquet with raspberry and wild strawberry fruit interlaced with a light sea spray note that is accentuated with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red cherry and cranberry fruit, hints of cured meat and brown spices. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy black fruit, that marine influence carrying on with quite robust tannin. It feels slightly pinched on the finish and the acidity feels a little shrill on the aftertaste. Give this another year in bottle.
