No shrinking violet, this Chassagne-Montrachet has a medium-bodied, hearty mouthfeel that we'd almost call zingy. Pear, cinnamon and nutmeg flavors are rounded out with some bacon-fat and peeled apple notes. Opens with Bartlett pear, mustard grain and floral notes; finish is short, but characteristically zesty.——W.E.(10/1/2001)—— 89
