The 2005 CABERNET SAUVIGNON is straightforward, a touch too herbaceous, but with some considerable backbone for a wine in its price category. The winery presented a vertical of this wine to me in Greece, which demonstrated that the wines hold well. I am less sure that they improve much or reward cellaring, despite the tannins. Retasted in the USA, this remains elegant in the mid-palate, while packing some punch on the finish in terms of tannin. I suspect the tannins will outlive the fruit. This is a more serious wine than the Syrah reviewed this issue, but no more charming. Drink now-2015. Importer: Athenee Importers & Distributors LTD., Hempstead, N.Y.; tel: (516) 505-4800
