Moving to the 2011 reds, and one of the more southern Rhone styled Grenache blends coming out of California, the 2011 Grenache l’Ange Rouge offers up beautiful kirsch liqueur, garrigue, spice and basil-like nuances as well as a medium to full-bodied, nicely focused and structured palate. There’s some tannin to resolve, yet it’s sweet and well integrated. Enjoy this beauty over the coming 4-6 years. Drink now-2019.
These 2010s and 2011s from McPrice are straight up fantastic. Very classy and pure, they all benefitted from substantial air time and deserve another year or two in the cellar. In addition to delivering rock-star quality, they also represent superb values. This is another Paso Robles producer who has consistently produced outstanding wines that remain more than reasonably priced given their quality. They merit serious attention!
