Pinino’s 2005 Brunello di Montalcino is soft, supple and approachable. Dark red fruit, flowers and French oak meld together with lovely overall balance. Nothing in particular stands out; just the wine’s impeccable sense of harmony and proportion. This juicy, attractive Brunello should drink beautifully over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2017. Pinino is a small estate located in the Montosoli district with vineyards in Montosoli itself and in Canchi, which lies to the north-east of the town of Montalcino.
