The 2018 Rosso di Montalcino opens to a medium garnet color with bright ruby highlights. The wine offers a nicely balanced bouquet that carefully considers the intensity of its aromas and the elegance of its various components. Forest berry, wild cherry and pressed violets all appear here in a clear and distinctive manner. The mouthfeel is lean, easy and not particularly complex. This is a precise and accessible expression of Sangiovese that should pair next to fried chicken or codfish. Some 10,000 bottles were made.
