Faury is better known for his outstanding Condrieu cuvees (he was also president of the Condrieu syndicate for a number of years), but his 2003 Cote Rotie is the finest effort to date. Forward and seductive, with an exotic perfume of crushed olives intermixed with raspberries and cassis, this sexy, sensual, lush, medium to full-bodied Cote Rotie is relatively high in alcohol, and undoubtedly includes a noticeable percentage of Viognier. Its low acidity and fleshiness suggest consumption over the next 7-9 years is warranted.
