The Nuits St.-Georges Les Chaignots has an earthy, spicy character with less fragrance than the Echezeaux and Clos Vougeot, as well as less of their pure, intense, red berry character. It is medium bodied, and has slightly tougher and harder-edged tannins. For that reason, I would cellar it until 1990-1991 before consuming it; it has the potential to last until 1996-1997.
